my goal the past month has been to try to make meals that we can all eat – whether together or not – with leftovers so that it can last a few meals. bi-weekly i’ll make a fish and vegetable fried rice that will last k 2 to 3 meals. monthly i’ll make a batch of garlic free tomato sauce for pasta, pizza or lasagna. i definitely spend less time in the kitchen daily. ideally i’d like to have us eat at least one meal together a day but it is pretty hard to sync our daily schedules and plan in advance better. i think i’ve succeeded maybe once or twice a week – sometimes we eat the same things and sometimes we all eat different things. k is used to used to eating differently from us so she isn’t overjoyed when we all eat the same things nor does she fuss if we eat different things. on weekends i try to make a sunday breakfast where we enjoy a breakfast meal together – from muffins to pancakes to waffles. we also try to show her food prep time she can see how her meals are made.
