i read Laura Numeroff and Felicia Bond’s collaboration If You Give a Mouse a Cookie a long time ago and loved it so much that i bought it for my future classroom library, when i was planning to teach elementary school. since then i went into a different career so i didn’t know it expanded into a If You Give … series. when i started taking k to the bookstore/library regularly.
i saw other books by Numeroff/Bond and was excited by the idea of the series but i didn’t fall in love with any other book – i.e If You Give a Cat a Cupcake and If You Take a Mouse to the Movies. for the later, it wasn’t because it is not really a book about food – instead it didn’t have the same kind of flow as the first book did. today, i was flipping through some more books and came across If You Give a Dog a Donut. like the first one, it had a great rhythm as well as a storyline that flowed better than the other books in this series that i have read so far! so you loved the first book, you’re sure to love this one!
